Why are we doing this?
Local organisations are at the heart of effective, sustainable change and community development. They understand their communities, respond quickly to need, and deliver better long-term outcomes.
But barriers still exist. Barriers of transparency, capacity, trust and resource.
Contexium is breaking down these barriers one by one to create a world where local organisations, funders, and partners can work together easily and simply.
The Team
Contexium is powered by MetricsLed. Since its founding in 2012, MetricsLed has become a trusted technology partner to the international aid and development sector, supporting the delivery of complex programmes around the world with practical, reliable solutions.
Through this work, MetricsLed has seen first-hand that the most effective and sustainable results come when local organisations are able to play a leading role in their community’s development. These lessons are not limited to overseas aid. Across the UK and other sectors, there is growing recognition that local providers, charities, and social enterprises are often best placed to deliver meaningful, lasting impact.
Contexium represents the next step in this journey. It was created to meet a growing demand: enabling local organisations to participate more directly and effectively in funded programmes and partnerships. What began as a response to the localization agenda in international development has become a model that is relevant wherever funders and local providers need to work together.
By combining MetricsLed’s technological expertise with this focus on local delivery, Contexium offers a platform that helps organisations connect, collaborate, and deliver impact from the ground up.
Bernard Carr:
Leading the development of Contexium, Bernard Carr has over 15 years of experience, the last 8 of which have been in technology for development. Bernard has extensive experience in data-driven decision-making, SaaS product development, and strategic consulting, helping organisations optimise operations and scale their impact. Having lived and worked in multiple countries across Africa and Asia, Bernard is a believer in the potential and need of localization within the development sector as well as the challenges which stand in its way.
